IT ALL STARTED In an MBA program. We had to profile a leader. Shirley Chisholm became the subject. At the time, there was doubt about how to approach integrating a black woman political leader in a business leadership class.
As the first black woman to run for president, she is noted for saying, “What I hope most is that now there will be others who will feel themselves as capable of running for high political office as any wealthy, good-looking white male.”
While researching Shirley, the question emerged: what would a leadership model for women look like, particularly women of color? So, here we are.
